I like picturing you there, with the river
and the cowboy hats, remember
when I bought you one? You took pictures
I still have somewhere.
I loved feeling like I might see you,
by the lake, by the roses, maybe
with a new girl even, but
there is a lightness, knowing I won't.
Knowing all of this is mine now,
to reimagine how I choose.
